[edit] Running the Installation Wizard

Installation Wizard
Installation Wizard

Point your browser to the location in which your uploaded Trellis Desk files are located (ex: yourdomain.com/support). You should be automatically redirected to the 'install' directory. If you are not redirected, manually point your browser to the install directory.

The Installation Wizard will run several self checks to make sure everything is ready for installation. If you receive messages regarding file checks, CHMODing, or renaming, see the continued documentation below. If all self checks have passed, you will not see any warning messages. Now you need to enter the requested information. You can obtain your database information from your web host.

  • MySQL Host - This is the address at which the MySQL service can be access. This is usually 'localhost'.
  • MySQL Username - The username Trellis Desk will use to connect to the MySQL service.
  • MySQL Password - The password that corresponds with the username to connect to the MySQL Service.
  • MySQL Database - The database in which all Trellis Desk information will be stored.
  • MySQL DB Prefix - The table prefix Trellis Desk will use for all tables. This is useful when installing more than one copy of Trellis Desk to the same database, as it prevents table name conflicts. By default, the prefix is 'td_'.
  • Username - Your desired username for your admin account.
  • Password - Your desired password for your admin account.
  • Email Address - Your email address that will be associated with your account. This email will also be used for the From header in outgoing emails sent by Trellis Desk. If you wish this address to be different from the email address in your account, you can change this setting later in the ACP under General Configuration.

Finally, click Install and the installation wizard will do all the hard work for you. When this is done, click final link to go to your new Trellis Desk system. Enjoy!
